Welcome to St. Wilfrid’s Calverley – at the heart of the community since 1154

St Wilfrid’s Tower Project completed thanks to Heritage Lottery Fund support

Last year, St Wilfrid’s Church, Calverley, Leeds has received £39,100 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an exciting Tower Project to equip the church building in a way that is appropriate to its role as a centre of community activity in Calverley. The project, now completed provides a mezzanine floor in the tower which houses a Heritage Area and a newly-restored West window. Below the mezzanine two toilets (one fully accessible), and a servery are now open. Read more.
The Vicar, Revd. Phil Arnold

I’d like to welcome you to St Wilfrid’s, a church that strives to be at the heart of the community, sharing the love of Christ in all that we do.

We’d love you to come and join us in worship, at a midweek group, at one our mother and toddler groups, or through events that are on.

Every blessing,

Rev Phil Arnold.

Rosemary (Rosie) Coldwell – Honarary Curate at St. Wilfrid’s.

Rosie was born to missionary parents in East Africa where she lived until she was 17yrs.  She completed her education in England and trained as a school and private music and RE teacher.  Soon after marrying Tony she gave up school teaching and stayed at home in Calverley to care for their three children – Paul, Christopher and Becky.  She moved with the family to Dorset in 1992 and trained as a lay pastoral assistant along with continuing many other church and musical activities.
After Paul’s untimely death in 1999 Rosie felt called to ordination training and trained at STETS in Salisbury. She ordained deacon in September 2007 and priest in 2008, serving her curacy at Blandford Forum Parish Church.  In 2012 the family moved back to Calverley and Rosie has since been licensed as Honarary Curate at St. Wilfrid’s.

 Messy Church

Every 1st Saturday of the month from 3.00pm.

An all age, all family affair where Grandma and Granddad can mix with Mums and Dads as well as all the children. It is an opportunity for you as a family to do things you might not be able to at home, in a safe and fun environment. We spend about one hour in the mess being creative with paint, glue, playdoh, paper, and scissors. If you have never been before come and see for yourselves. Do come and see, it`s the only way you will know if it`s for you.

I’d like to welcome you to St Wilfrid’s, a church that strives to be at the heart of the community, sharing the love of Christ in all that we do.

We’d love you to come and join us in worship, at a midweek group, at one our mother and toddler groups, or through events that are on.

I really look forward to meeting you!

Every blessing,

Rev Phil Arnold.
